Philosophy of Ministry

At the First Congregation Church of Eaton/Ault, our philosophy of ministry revolves around three concepts:
  • To Know Him
  • To Grow in Him
  • To Go With Him
This is based on our commision from our Lord in Matthew 28:18-20, which says:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (ESV)

We make disciples by helping one another move through these 3 stages of growth:

To Know Him - The Foyer

  • Key Components: Gospel, Theology, Introductions

  • Key Gatherings: Sunday Groups

  • Hebrews 10:22 -  let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

  • Result: People focused on God, not themselves (the individual)

To Grow in Him - The Living Room

  • Key Components: Relationships, Accountability, Prayer, Theology

  • Key Gatherings: Small Groups

  • Hebrews 10:23 -  let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

  • Result: People focused on one another (the Church)

To Go With Him - The Kitchen

  • Key Components: Obedience, Service, Relationships

  • Key Gatherings: Service Groups

  • Hebrews 10:24 - And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works

  • Result: People focused on serving others (the Church and the world)

When we serve from the Kitchen more people are brought into the Foyer, perpetuating the cycle of growth.

If you are a part of our church, we encourage you to become involved in Sunday Groups, Small Groups, and Service Groups. If you are interested in joining a Small Group, contact a small group leader or Jesse Griffin if you don't know one. If you are interested in joining a Service Group, see our Get Involved page.
